Continuous
Improvement Engineer
This position represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to take responsibility for driving improvement initiatives and to move the Company forward with its manufacturing processes.
You will apply lean manufacturing principles, help develop methods, and investigate manufacturing processes to achieve best quality, lowest cost and improve delivery performance.
Specific responsibilities will include;
Driving continuous improvement initiatives through the application of lean manufacturing techniques and Manufacturing Cost Analysis
Liaison with company personnel and suppliers to investigate flows, identify defects and prepare improvement plans
Helping to prepare proposals with cost and benefits for capital expenditure and pay back
Improving data collection systems and contribute K P I information on costs and lead times for analysis
KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The successful individual will possess the following;
Relevant experience in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing facility
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement models and principles (5S, 7 Wastes, SMED etc)
Experience of applying Value Stream mapping
Six Sigma Green Belt certified would prove highly advantageous
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels
Be willing to lead with new initiatives, manage own time and work unsupervised.
