Investment in Plant & new Training Facility

Investment in Plant & new Training Facility

It has been a very busy year so far with a number of investment projects coming to fruition during the middle part of 2015.

In April we took delivery of a new Vacuum Heat Treatment plant to supplement the one we already operate. The new plant will ensure that in the event of a breakdown or a sudden spike in demand we can ensure continuity of supply and meet the unexpected demands of customers. Before the new plant was installed we had to rearrange the workshop layout and create space to accommodate the larger Oven, control equipment and ancillary cooling system and pipework. The total investment was close to half a million pounds and after a number of teething problems we are now pleased to see the plant in full operation.

Also in April we invested in a new LVD CNC Press Brake for our Sheet Metal forming cell. This compliments another LVD Press Brake that we purchased in 2013 and it significantly increases our capacity to form sheet metal quickly.

During the summer, the Builders moved in to create a new Training room and office above our existing canteen and washroom facilities. Commencing work in early June the project was completed by the middle of August and in recent weeks it is has been utilised by a number of employees who are studying to gain NVQ's, a number of training days with our training partner, Sharing in Growth and for a number of employee meetings.

Pictured are the new Training room towards the end of the build in August, the new Vacuum Heat Treatment plant and the new LVD Press Brake.
